Racehorses, Horses for Courses Ambassador scheme and are thrilled to announce that our two new ambassador horses will be Frodon and Black Corton. A huge thank you to the owners of both horses and the entire Frost team who have made this possible.
To celebrate this new partnership, we would like to announce that Frodon will be parading at our meeting on Saturday 17th January at 12.15pm, so please make sure to be at the course early to see him.
Frodon is a highly popular and successful National Hunt racehorse who was
famous for his bold jumping style and courageous spirit, making him one of the most well-loved horses in training.
Frodon secured 19 wins from 52 career starts, accumulating nearly £1.2 million in prize money. His most notable Grade One victories include The Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2019, The King George VI Chase at Kempton Park in 2020 and The Champion Chase at Down Royal in 2021.
Upon retirement in early 2024, Frodon joined his regular jockey Bryony Frost and her family at their farm in Dartmoor where he remains an active and popular horse, participating in RoR events and parades and qualifying for Hickstead and Aintree in the show ring.
Black Corton won 14 races, amassing nearly £400,000 in prize money. His
most significant win came in the 2017 Grade 1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton. He was trained by the champion trainer Paul Nicholls and owned by a syndicate that included TV presenter Jeremy Kyle and the Brooks family.
Black Corton was officially retired in February 2021 after being pulled up during a race at Kempton Park. Following his retirement, he moved to the stables of Jimmy Frost (Bryony’s father) in Devon to live out his days on Dartmoor. As of early 2024, he was still enjoying his retirement, exploring the Devon countryside with his fellow stablemate, Frodon.
