Taunton / Cheltenham Bonus

Taunton Racecourse is delighted to announce that for the 2026 / 2027 season, we will be offering a cash bonus of £50,000 to the owner/s of any horse that wins one of our identified qualifying WFA Novice Hurdles, WFA Mares Novice Hurdles or Juvenile / Junior Hurdles run at our race meetings between November and mid-February and goes on to win one of the 6 Novice Hurdle races at the 2027 Cheltenham Festival.

How the bonus works.

Three steps, one horse, one season.

    Win at Taunton

    Win one of our identified qualifying WFA Novice Hurdles, WFA Mares Novice Hurdles or Juvenile / Junior Hurdles, run between November and mid-February.

  • 02

    Win at Cheltenham

    Go on to win one of the 6 Novice Hurdle races at the 2027 Cheltenham Festival.

  • 03

    Collect £50,000

    The cash bonus is paid to the owner or owners of the winning horse. In the unlikely event that there is more than one winner, the bonus will be shared accordingly.

A qualifying Taunton winner triggers the bonus by winning any one of the six Novice Hurdle races run at the 2027 Festival.

Which Taunton races qualify

The identified qualifying races are WFA Novice Hurdles, WFA Mares Novice Hurdles and Juvenile / Junior Hurdles run at Taunton race meetings between November 2026 and mid-February 2027. The first six are listed above; a further four are anticipated in January / February 2027.

Which Cheltenham races qualify

The horse must go on to win one of the 6 Novice Hurdle races run at the 2027 Cheltenham Festival.

More than one winner

In the unlikely event that there is more than one winner, the bonus will be shared accordingly.

Confirmation of the 2027 programme

The January / February qualifying races are subject to confirmation of the 2027 fixture list and race programmes. These races will be highlighted in due course.
