Where you say I do

Civil-ceremony-licensed rooms above the paddock and across our parkland gardens — a West-Country setting for the moment everything begins.

Up to 250 guests

The Paddock Gallery

Our most photogenic room, and the one most couples picture when they imagine the day. High-ceilinged and sun-drenched, with a glass balustrade looking out over the paddock, the Paddock Gallery holds a civil ceremony for up to 250 standing or 160 seated — then dresses effortlessly for the wedding breakfast to follow.

Floor-to-ceiling balcony doors run the length of the room, so the light is yours all afternoon. Comes wedding-ready with a ceremony licence, an in-house catering team and a dedicated wedding planner.

Ceremony questions, answered

The things couples ask us most when choosing where to hold their ceremony at Taunton.

Are your spaces licensed for civil ceremonies?

Yes. Our principal wedding rooms and our parkland gardens are licensed for civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies. You'll arrange the registrar directly with the local register office; our coordinator will help you align the timings.

Can we hold the ceremony outdoors?

We do. Our wedding-licensed gardens host open-air ceremonies, with the indoor rooms on hand as a seamless wet-weather plan. We'll talk you through both options when you visit.

How many guests can attend our ceremony?

It depends on the space. The Winning Post suits intimate ceremonies of up to 120, the Paddock Gallery up to 250, and the Staplemead Suite up to 400 standing. From a gathering of thirty to a celebration of several hundred, there's a room to fit.

Can we have the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Yes — most couples do. Our rooms are dressed for the ceremony and then turned over for the wedding breakfast and evening reception, all under one roof. Larger rooms like the Staplemead Suite also give you a private terrace for the gap between.

Is there a coordinator to help us plan?

Always. A dedicated wedding coordinator is included with every booking and is your single point of contact — from your first venue tour through choosing the room, the catering and the running order of the day.

How do we check availability and pricing?

Every wedding is quoted individually around your guest count, season and chosen space. Share your plans through our wedding booking form and we'll come back with availability, a personalised quote and an invitation to tour the venue.
